Starting your fitness journey is one of the best decisions you can make to improve your health. Not only will you get fit, but you'll also reduce your risk of developing diseases.

The key is to understand what your goal is - what you want to achieve - and then make a plan to get there. Remember, a structured program to get you started would be beneficial to increase your results and not train for nothing.

Here are some fitness mistakes we tend to make, and how NOT to make them!

  1. Overtraining: We tend to say GO HARD OR GO HOME! I recommend GO SLOW SO YOU CAN GO FAR. You are in it for the long term! Take it easy.

  2. Not learning how to do the movement: You think you know everything when you start a sport, but that's not true! You need to take the time to understand the movement to avoid injury and to better progress.

  3. Not taking the time to rest and recover: For a workout to be effective in the long run, you need to get enough rest. The more intense your training, the more you need to recover. So if you feel like you're doing too much too fast, take a step back. There's no shame in slowing down and taking your time.
